lol, what do you get when you cross an MDR7550 with an EX600, well you'll have to hear it to believe it!
I have been enamoured with Sonys IEM line, it all started when I traded my TF10s for a set of EX600s! thanks Majin, and I haven't listened back, I also sold off my RE262s aswell, and I have been exclusively listening to the wonderful 600s for the last 6 months, they are wonderful with a gigantic 3D soundstage, sparkling but adjusted tamed highs, and a thumping low end, and a great mid section albeit a little on the recessed side, and since the 262s I have missed the uber smooth mids of them,
now hearing that the 7550s have a more mid forward presence, I thought I'd give them a try, and kazowies they do! and do they ever have a fullest sound to them and they also have some uber smooth deep thumping bass, and just the right amount of treble, so now I can run my rig full tilt because these 7550s can handle evrything that I throw at them in a very nice way while still being very well balanced, and nnoo distortion, my rig to date is an iPod 7th gen Classic, w/the eq. now shut off>GS Voayger w/the contour switch on>ZOv1 set on high> MDR7550s w/Head-Directs large bi-flange tips! well what can I say I am a self confessed bass head, and these puppies sound teriffic! not as large of a 3D soundstage as the 600s but still very nice,
so I got to thinking about the 600s and the similair but also uniquely different sound signiture..., and they also share the same type of connector? hhmmm what could this mean, I know its a diy homemade hybrid kit just staring me in the face, yep I heard it so I must have dealt it, lol, so I'm now using a 7550 for the left side and a 600 for the right, and I'm really liking it alot, it has aqiured an even more awesomer sound over just using the 7550s or the 600s on there own!
