Any particular OTG cable you guys recommend? I'll be using on Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and going the Dragonfly route. Thanks!

Does wonder what is the mixer control based on though with volume control set to "None" as the mixer still works.

The volume control preference option only selects what the main screen slider (at the right) controls. If set to None, you will not see the slider (if everything went according to plan). The Mixer tab always shows your device's hardware controls, if available.

Thank you for clarifying.

I really get confused !

On one hand I read that the NOTE 3 can stream 24/192 music WITHOUT Downsampling to a USB DAC using the Google play or Samsung Play software.... which is a VERY good news, and ...on the other hand I see here many people using USB AUDIO PLAYER PRO on the Note 3 to play High-Res files !!

So why do they use USB AUDIO PLAYER PRO is the Note 3 is supposed to natively play 24/192 ??

please help, I plan to use a Note3 with the CHORD HUGO ....if I can play 24/192 bit-perfect.

Answered in the other thread you posted to bmichels.

I'm very interested in the Chord and recently discovered a local store that will be getting it in and allows auditions, will be trying it out with my Note 3. Via USBAPP it should do 24-bit.

I prefer using USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP) because to my ears it is the best sound quality music player for the time being.

Looking forward getting your results of  Note3 + HUGO !! :D

RE  USBAPP: it seems to fit the bill for Bit-perfect play, but... the UI is minimal & missing I some nice feature like browsing through cover art, search function, play list support/management... I am correct ?

It's a fairly basic player at present, but improving steadily. Playlist support is there.

When you say 'browsing through cover art' do you mean a cover flow type thing? Hopefully that doesn't get added for a long time, it's a pretty but functionally useless way to browse a library. There are a lot of things that need sorting before that. When you browse the library by album there is album art in the list view provided, but I don't think that is what you mean?

Ah, I see, that is there but in list format only. A tiled view like that would be nice for landscape in particular.

I've only had a quick listen to it ( straight from the phone ) but I thought it  sounded quite reasonable if that's any help !

Anyone else get serious battery drain when using audio via USB OTG on a Note 3?

Using a C5D, however it is on battery mode not charge so this shouldnt make a difference.

Using audio via headphone jack to the C5D amp only causes little to no drain.

Could just be the phone using more resources to process the audio via USB but yeah.

Just curious :)

Scott

I have the same issue with my Note 2: in HOST mode, anything I connect that has a rechargeable battery in it will be charged by the phone; even when the phone's switched off. It's a pain! I'm currently looking into a DATA ONLY cable, but I'm not sure it'll be able to perform the necessary handshaking without the +5V line :(
