Im looking for some new headphones and i want an opinion on headphones that are better than Beats pro but not as expensive. I listen to alot of hard rock and dubstep so i want strong bass. I have desktop amps as well as portable amps but i really dont want to spend more than $350.smily_headphones1.gif

My friend who owns 2 pairs of Beats Pro and a solo, studio, etc. Just loves his Pioneer HDJ-2000. He says it's the best headphone he's ever heard. I thought it was also very good for the price, build quality was top notch.

Heya,

Panasonic HTF600, $30ish.

Sony XB500 (give a small bump in the treble on equalizer), $40ish.

Yea.

Very best,

Uh, are you serious, the HTF600 and XB500 are destroyed by the Pros. Even in an objective field, the Pros are more controlled and have better mids. Not to say the Pros are good, the AKG K181's thrash them.

Ultrasones are awesome too.

Ultrasone PRO 900 with Fiio E11 amp will blow you and your beats pro away. L3000.gif

alot of these suggestions are throwing him over the $350 range. Especially if he goes with some 900's. Also for the record.. i went jogging yesterday with my beats pro.........god now i remember why i only use them to dj. So uncomfortable and the clamp force is horrible. And the sound was just bad compared to my pro700's.

The Pro 90 can be found pretty easily for right around $350. They're that price a lot on Amazon, just keep an eye out.

Also, Why do you use them for...anything? There's better, more balanced, cheaper options out there...especially for a booth DJ. If you need high isolation (stage shows) the HD 25 is still the best option, IMO of course.

+1 for the HD25 I use it with a cmoy and the experience couldn't be more fun at that price point.

i prefer my pro700's when dj'ing. I dont like on ear headphones. And with the bass of the 700 i like feeling the bass.

As long as you've got the highs and lows down in a DJ can that's all that really matters. My top 3 were probably the HD 25 (which I'll probably be rebuying when I get back into DJing soon. I miss it a lot. Miss being on stage. :D ), the Xone 53, and the HDJ 2000. All fairly balanced which made them excellent for mixing.

EDIT: To make it on topic...the Xone 53 is fantastic alternative at under $200 it's a steal.

I think you may like the HDJ-2ks. I love mine as a bassy counterpart to my AKGs.
