MiniBox E+ battery replacement?

Is it possible to replace the MiniBox's battery? Something seems to be wrong with mine. The orange light at the back flickers briefly when I plug in the charger and then nothing appears. It works fine running off mains but when I remove the cord it dies...

Try contacting one of the Jaben rep's on the forum to see if they can send you a replacement battery.

Best of luck,

Hmm, I found the replacement part on Head-Direct, but I'm not sure if I should go and buy it when it could be something else like the charging circuit. Has anyone had similar symptoms in their MiniBox amp?

My MiniBox hasn't had any issues since ive had it.

I fixed another user's (macfly) minibox-e a couple of years ago with similar symptoms. If the amp works with the charger plugged in but not without, it is more than likely the battery.

How are the solder joints where the battery connects to the PCB?

I don't remember exactly, but they were pretty easy IIRC. Pay attention to the color coding before you remove the battery pack. I think there are 3 wires (V+, gnd and V-) There is a thin ground wire from the faceplate to the PCB that is kind of a pain in the ass. Not difficult, just irritating when you disassemble or reassemble it.

I meant for bcpk to tell us what the condition of those joints is.

Could look better... (I have not opened it up before)

Your issues are probably a result of those faulty-looking connections.

They aren't great, but not that bad. The blue wire being pinched like that could be a problem. You could try removing/cleaning/resoldering, but I would bet you need a new battery pack.

I'll have a go at that, maybe it will work, maybe it won't.
