Why do so few IEMs have an oval nozzle?

The ones with oval nozzles seem to fit better, and the seal can be enhanced by rotating the IEM. The $6 Panasonic RP-HJE120 has an oval nozzle, as does the more expensive Panasonic RP-HJE350.

So do the Bose IE2s, though from experience I can't say that I had a good fit.

Meelec cw31's have an oval nozzle. My girlfriend seems to like the fit, but then again anything would be better than the cheap no name iem's she used before.
