It's about the source recording quality more than the bitrate. These headphones will bring out everything - definitely the most detailed headphones I've ever heard.
For example - I did a ABX test on FLAC/320/192 - I can't tell the difference. Even when I get it right, I am guessing.
Then I did a ABX test with Pink Floyd's The Wall between the 2011 version from the immersion boxset and the MFSL version - I got it right 10/10.
I also did Diana Krall's Live in Paris - 16 bit vs 24 bit and scored 10/10.
All the differences were subtle though - if I listened casually I wouldn't be able to tell a difference.
