Can anyone tell me if the denon ah-d5000 has a tight clamping pressure on the head? I am quite skinny and rather small head, I find that most headphones fit loose on my head. I like the way the mdr-7506 and the sennheiser hd650s fit, Im looking to buy the ah-d5000 never tried them on my head that is why I would like to know if they fit nice and tight, thanks in advance!

This is a review of a pair of free IEM's I recieved from DUNU as part of a give away contest they recently held here on Head-fi. When I recieved my package the first thing I notices was...

Best closed headphones I had heard - very flat response, almost no midrange distortion, very easy to drive (good for portable), good soundstage (definately better than K240), good isolation, but...

Overall excellent buds, very good sound quality, especially for their price, the medium set of tips fits exactly in my ears and provides a near perfect seal. Bass is very detailed, but not...

I'll keep this very short. They are very smooth sounding. Treble toned down so not so good for rock but have a magic about them that makes them better than mark 2. I use them with a '89/'90...

Denon ah-d5000 clamping pressure
Heya,
It has next to no clamping pressure. It doesn't clamp down at all.
It will not be overly loose on your head, the cups are less than an inch apart at rest, so they will always form a seal on even a tiny head, unless your head is less than an inch wide.
But the pressure it exerts is next to nothing. They're built for luxury comfort. And they did it successfully.
Very best,
The newer ones are a bit tighter than the old ones, however (ones made after the D7000's were released have more clamping pressure as far as I know). But even with the extra clamping pressure, they have very little, just enough to keep them from falling off your head if you lean forward.
They stay in place nicely, however.

They'll fit so loose you'll be suspicious... "Are they on?"
They're going to fit you just fine, actually. Light & luxuriously so...
