I'm looking to buy my first set of quality cans and have been poking around the forum here for a little bit.

I'll be using them mostly at the library on a laptop with a mid-range sound card and am a relatively broke student so I'm looking for something preferably under $100. Though I'll primarily be using them with Pandora and ripped audio files I'll be using them for several hours at a time quite often so comfort is a big plus.

I've narrowed my search down to the Shure SRH440, Sennheiser HD448, and the AKG acoustics K-240 which are semi-open (will they bleed too much sound for a library?)

Does anyone have any preference between these headphones or have any in a similar price range they think are superior?

What genre of music do you mostly listen to, do you like a neutral'ish sound vs fun, and are IEM's an option?

IEM's are fine but I've always preferred on-ear and especially over ear cans to them. As for the genres I listen to, it's pretty varied but tends to range from classical to classic rock, blues, folk and some not super bass heavy rock (such as Muse, and indie rock). I figure that good mid range sound and clarity is probably preferable to something super bass heavy.

The only thing that IEM's win out on hands down for me is portability, but I tend to use headphones only when at a dedicated task or just enjoying them alone in my room. No need for super mobility. That being said, if there are a pair of IEM's that are hands down superior I'd love to know about them. :)
