Why does a better seal result in more bass quantity?

Why do better seals around the ear have more effect on the lower frequencies than the mids and highs?

If you pull your headphones slightly away from your ears, the bass becomes weaker and the treble feels louder / "sharper". But if walk outside a club, typically you can hear the bass long before anything else. Why is this?

Also, why does bass cause rumble while higher frequencies do not?

As the volume of air is increased, the driver size and power required also increase to produce the same frequencies at a similar sound pressure level.  Higher frequencies have much lower wavelengths and reflected much easier.

Bigger space needs bigger/more speakers for bass

Walls reflect treble very well but bass not so well.
