I strongly suggest Electri-Q.  It is a VST plugin that works with Foobar (with VST wrapper) and with Winamp.  Up to 64 parametric bands.  It is also insanely easy to get the sound you want just by drawing the curve you want with the mouse.

if possible, stay away from itunes, if not, check if itunes has vst plugin support.

Hi sid...,

You might find this article possibly helpful. http://www.computeraudiophile.com/content/Plugin-Equalizer-iTunes. The comments disscuss the possibilities of routing audio to external programs and such (like VST plugins) from what I gathered.

Electric Q is VERY instable on foobar. It's seem to work on certain setup but MANY people have instability (freezing) problem with it.

VST plugins are very unstable on foobar, period.  Well, on foobar using the foo_vst extension anyway.  Plugins that don't work worth a damn that way work just fine using George Yohng's VST wrapper for foobar though.

I think the best advice is to get a better source, not try and fix it with an EQ, which you will never be able to do anyway.

well i use all my music in falc and on foobar on my laptop, my desktop i aint worried its very good as i have a creative sound card so mostyl laptop i am worried and i am a student so i dont want to be carrying arounf a dac or amp, i could get a usb sound card if that makes a diffrece, prefably onw with an eq any reccommendation on that

i still preferr a prgram, i can seem to get electric q to work so right know i am suing the foorbar eq witch is ok but i need more bands on the bass it only goes down to 55 i need 36

Why not use the EQ in Foobar?

BTW, you can find USB DAC's that are pretty small.

The Eq in Ozone 5 or Waves H-Eq work well. I use Ozone 5 for playback in foobar - so far it's been flawless. Use George Yohng's vst wrapper for Foobar - its been very stable.

I can agree with this statement. I've never had any stability problems with the George Yohng VST wrapper. It. Just. Works. Then you can use Electri-Q (free) or whatever you like.

Best!
