Which One?

Just picked up my first set of real headphones. I went with the Shure SRH750DJ's from an authorized dealer.

I will be mainly using them with my iPod Touch 2nd Gen, my Asus M50SV-A1 laptop with a Realtek HD Audio card, or my HTC Incredible. I mainly picked the 750's because they seem to get raving reviews in terms of pleasurable listening and working great without portable/desktop amps. However as you can tell from my sig I have an addiction to audio.

First and foremost is it worth it going with an amp? Im wanting to stay around $30-$40 since this will be my first amp just to get the feel for the hobby. Ive been reading and am having a hard time finding something. Anyone have any suggestions on what I can do? I am not opposed to buying used from here provided the seller has great feedback.

They are easy to drive...no amp is needed. Maybe a portable? thats a personal choice.

If you want to keep it cheap, the fiio E6 is really your only choice for a portable amp. Unless you want to move up to a Cmoy or a E11, both of which cost at least $20 more than the E6.

A buddy of mine got the E6 and he was impressed with it. How does the E6 stack up against what I found on eBay? The solution doesnt need to be portable.

I really have no idea how good that one you found on ebay is, I'm sorry but I'm not very experienced with amps, I couldn't say for sure.

In the car audio world Elna caps are fantastic. Not sure on this stuff though. I assume they are similar.
