2nd generation Jays q-jays

Hi all,

I was just about to buy the q-jays and found out they don't have in stock. After asking when will the new shipment come in, they told me that the q-jays are being discontinued and replaced with a new model.

So just wondering if anyone here has any information on what the new updated model will be or if anyone has heard anything.

Hopefully it will be some Jays with a triple-driver configuration! That would be cool! But I'm keeping my fingers crossed. :x

Yeah that would be, but I don't think they could fit triple drivers in cans that small :) Plus I'm sure it would increase the price a lot, which I hope will stay the same as the current model.

Well, if that really happens, they will be sure to increase the size of the earphones. Well, a Q-jays 2 could be nice ^^

Could be, but I'm really hoping they won't do that. What they should do is update the current q-jays keeping dual drivers and the size, as the size is exactly what I'm after and release another triple driver model that would be larger and obviously more expensive.

Yeah, that would be great. Also, improve the sound.

Hopefully it will be the x-JAYS cause we have been waiting for it for almost a year now.

Wow, quad balanced armature. It has been announced at 2010, is delayed for rather long...

Hmm didn't even know about the x-jays. After a quick search I found out they were supposed to be the smallest quadro armature iems. But they were supposed to be release back in 2010!

In any case I'm sure if they do release them now they would be well above the current q-jays pricing, so hopefully they will release an updated q-jays as well, as I don't think the x-jays would be in the same category as q-jays.

If that's the case, the X-jays would be going head-on with IEMs like Westone 4 and XBA-04 and many other tripe driver configurations. But 3-4 balanced armatures are always expensive, so a dual driver is needed, I guess.

It's true that Jays doesn't have a really high end model that would compete with the likes of Westone 4 so in that sense it would seem logical to release quad armature model. But then I'm not sure about the fit since they are supposed to be the smallest quad phones, I guess a lot of people would be complaining if they didn't isolate as well as other headphones in the same price range.

For me it's perfect tho as I need something small, since the larger iems never fit me very well. So unless I go custom (which I can't considering I'm looking to spend around $200 right now) it's either q-jays or ue 700.

Yeah, though the Westone 4s were known to be the first quad-driver IEM, although the X-jays was announced way before that. So they probably are the first to get an idea of having a quad-driver configuration on an universal IEM.

But the UE700s are a good choice too, though I have not heard the Q-jays(but I heard the D-jays).

There's the klipsch x10/i's as well for smaller ears.

Not much point being first when they didn't actually end up releasing anything with 4 drivers 2 years later :D

I haven't heard the q-Jays or UE700 yet, but they are few of the only ones that fit my price range, size + they are both dual drivers which is as high as I can go I guess with the size constraints, so I've narrowed it down to them. As far as I know they should be fairly similar to each other in signature with some minor differences. There is also the Fischer DBA-02 but from what I've read it doesn't seem to be a good match to the music I listen to.

Luckily I'm buying from a store when I can exchange for different phones if I'm not happy with the sound.

Oh and I was told by the guy at the store that he will check with their supplier about the new model and when it's supposed to arrive, so I'll report back here when I hear from them in case anybody else is interested.

I find it weird tho that Jays still hasn't announced anything and stores are already supposed to start receiving it. Unless there's going to be an announcement tomorrow or something.
