For Sale:
SOLD Hifiman HE5-LE SOLD

Will Ship To: CONUS / CAN

Hey all,

I'm letting go of a pair of HE5-LE's that I just received as a replacement pair from Hifiman.  I have another pair since I was without my first pair for a while, and do not need 2 pairs.  If you have any questions or are interested in them, just let me know.

Thanks

For anyone out on a limb regarding the Hifiman HE-5LE headphones, please allow me to say that they are pure ear candy.  While the HE-5LE and HE-5 / 6 are a bit harder to drive than the HE-400, it is still worth pushing towards the higher series HE-5LE and then acquiring the proper amplification.  Your ears will appreciate the decision that you have made.  Also, making such a move will hold off your next upgrade for quite a while because you'll enjoy the Hifiman HE-5LE sound and realize that outside of spending 2 to 3 times more for that next set of headphones, you currently own one of the best within that price category.

Thanks for the comment wje, and you are so right.  With good amping, these sound phenomenal.  I don't have anything to brag about per-say, but with my Schiit Lyr, these are capable of hours upon hours of pure listening bliss.

How's the low end on these?  Have a pair of D5000s, wondering how they compare...

Sale Pending.

On a side note, I do not have the D5000's, but I do have a D2000 with wood cups and D7000 cable, and I would say the D2000's bass is much more emphasized, and the HE5-LE's are more natural to the music.  It's definitely there, just not as in your face as with the Denons.

First, it's nice to see that these have sold and will be moving onto a good home.

Second, as the OP indicated, the bass with them is "natural" - but, I would also add that it can be subjective to the genre of music that you listen to, also.  If I put on some Black Eyed Peas, the speakers will rock - and the bass is some of the best (in terms of quality) that I've heard from a headphone.  Even on genres with milder bass tracks, the HE-5LE does a very capable job - but, doesn't push it into your face, but you do know it's there.
