Just received my ATH M50's. Why do they sound just like my $40 headphones? - Page 4

If you guys think m50 is terrible can you guys give us flatter with good bass response at that price range?

So as Cal. They are the flattest headphones in that price range. I don't understand how you guys can call them an overrated headphone when they cost less or around 100$.

Denon d1100 is better , my issue with m50 is the mids and harsh high
s, i also prefer the es55,,hate sucked out mids.

You know, OP, I'm thinking the same thing, I've given them about 50 hours of burn in but I feel like I still like my HARX-900 more. Maybe I shouldn't use a US-100 interface as a source? Which is weird because I feel like that shouldn't be a problem. Maybe I just don't like sound of closed cans compared to open?

I need some closed cans though, I was thinking maybe I should sell these and get some DT770 Pros instead?

I find my amped M50 dang nice sounding.  I do regular sanity checks against my D2000 with them and am always impressed at how well the M50 sound.  The D2000 is more airy and has a bit more sense of space, but the M50 is not far behind.
