I've been somewhat away from the "headphone" scene for about a year now and have just recently started visiting again.  So I'm in need of a quick refresher course.

 

My favorite IEM has been the Audio Technica CK10 for about two years now.  I've not found anything that betters them for what I seek in sound reproduction:  Tight bass, clarity, instrumental separation to list but a few things.  And I don't find them bass lite at all.

 

And since I have been gone for a while, I'd like to know what the folks who either REALLY like the CK10's or LOVE them recommend as a potential upgrade, if such a thing even exists.

 

BTW, I don't believe in using a power amp for a portable rig.

 

So...

 

Any recommendations?
