Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro - Limited Edition, 32 Ohms - Page 35

The one thing I've seen is, as shown in the last couple of pages, the new 32 ohm non-LE has the black ring around the driver, while the LE does not. Not sure what that would do for sound, but it is a difference.

Hmm. Alright.

I found measurements for both the LE and non-LE on goldenears. Not quite sure what to derive from those... The graphs look a little different, but the reviewers opinion appears to be the same (at the end of the page).

I will probably get the velour pads too just to experiment a little.

I'm still wondering about the difference between the LE and standard edition. I'm not finding anything conclusive that would suggest that they are not the same.

Is the cable length the same 1.6 m (5.2 feet) as the limited edition? Could someone with the standard edition weigh in?

Thanks

Seems like the only difference is that black ring. My standard edition has a 1.6m cable too. I actually had my headphones open last night and forgot to put the black ring back on (on one side) when I reassembled them. seeing as it was assembled, I decided to give them a listen with one side having the black ring and the other without. to my ears, the difference is either incredibly minor or nothing. maybe with some more listening time it would have become more obvious but for the few minutes that I did listen, I didn't notice a difference.

*shrug*

Love my LEs, that's all I can say.

This might be interesting to try: http://www.head-fi.org/t/533085/dt770-mod

Might give it a go at some point if I can find the right material.

I tried damping mine a bit by running layers of a thick metal tape around the same area that the black ring seems to fit around in non-LE models. It made the bass a bit stronger to my ears, so I undid it.

Haven't tried the cottonball/full damping mod yet but tbh I've come to love mine just the way they are.

I'm pleased so far with the fiber loft/poly fill in the cups. Still gonna try lining the cups with dynamat. Wonder if anyone has tried something similar to the markl mod on the dt770?

Picked these up. Sound incredible, way better than the ATH-M50 and V-Moda M100 I used to have.

Ive wanted to for a while but dynamat is freaking expensive...

Couldn't agree more. Blows the M50 and COP out of the water.

Pretty sure this is what they're using for the markl mod on the denons.

Just ordered these (well, the standard edition Pro 32 ohm) as well as a pair of the velour ear pads! Now there's just the waiting. Should be getting them early next week!

Do you guys prefer the leather or velour pads? Does the sound change?

I prefer the pleather pads. The velours make them too bright and airy for me.
