Hi everyone, i'm new on this forum and i really liked the reviews on this web site.

Now the problem, i'm going to buy my first pair of "serious" headphones and my budget could reach 150 euros and i usually listen to music at portable devices but i have a good home hi-fi to...so my ideas were for this models:

AIAIAI TMA-1 (140 euros)

SONY MDR ZX700 (76 euros)

CREATIVE AURVANA LIVE! (56 euros)

AKG K518LE (60 euros)

ULTRASONE HFI 450 (80 euros)

AUDIOTECHNICA ATH M50 (155 euros)

which one of them you guys suggest me?

Or there are other solutions i didn't considered?

Thanks for the answers ;)

The Audio Technica ATH-M50 is the best of the bunch to my ear.  They are probably one of the best headphones period let alone for the price.  Amped mine still blow me away.

I'd go for the TMA-1. It can hold up to any wear and tear, sound great for the price, looks nice, doesn't need an amp to sound great, and is unique among hi-fi audio.

For the price, the Aurvana Live. The best of the bunch is probably the M50, though I'd get something like the Ultrasone HFI-680, HFI-780, or Pro 650 before I'd get the M50's. Though that's more if you like bass.

What kind of music do you like? What kind of sound signature are you looking for?

Well i'm looking for an headphone virtually for all pourposes, i like hard rock but i listen to all kinds of music!

Maybe a neutral-good-sounding headphone could be the best for me :)

I recommend the Shure SRH840. smile.gif

thanks for the info!

And as for your question, I have the Sony ZX700 and they are a good set of cans. the sony sounds quite like the aurvana live IMO but offers better isolation, less leakage, comfy and looks good. the bass is tight and punchy, good treble and a slightly bright highs for rock. Jazz, pop & classical sounds brilliant with the ZX700! It is made for portable use and does not require an amp normally, but improves amped.

But why don't you get the Sennheiser HD25-1 II instead? they are only €27 above your budget.

The Sennheiser HD25-1 II were my first choice but they go a little far away from my budget.

I also think that for the prices i've found for the other types of headphones i could make a better deal considering the quality/price ratio!

I also have some problems to find an italian seller for the AUDIOTECHNICA and the SHURE....i have to purchase them in germany with a shipping price of 20 euros plus more :(

yeah but the HD25 will be a long term investment.

That's true! ;)

I was now reading about the v-moda m80 and it seems they are spectacular...does anyone know how do they sound compared to the others i've listed before??
