Managed to destroy the Fuze - Anything to replace it?

I think I enjoyed my three years of the Fuze. It was until I dropped it and everything fell apart.

I'm thinking of maybe just re-buying the Fuze again, but I think I would like an upgrade from the old Fuze, while still being in the relatively same price range. ($50-70

I only use 320 kbps mp3's, so compatability isn't an enormous issue, as long as it can handle mp3's...

Space isn't an enormous issue, I only have about 100 songs..

50-70 dollar price range.

Maybe better looks.

Nationite N2! And a Clip Zip just because i haven't tried it. The Nationite comes with Brainwavz Beta IEMs which are pretty sweet! And basically free

I sat on my first Fuze and broke the screen, then my second one would no longer charge frown.gif I'm done with the Fuze! Even if it had LOD

Hmm tyvm. Any other suggestions?

I've used the clip zip and it's excellent. The sq and volume is wonderful, and I'd suggest it as a fuze replacement ANY DAY!

Hm.. Excellent.

But, just curious, isn't the clip zip a lower model then the Fuze?

What makes it better then the fuze?

Is the SQ better?

Edit:

Heard there is less source power then the Fuze.. Definite turn-off.

I have a V1 fuze, a V2 fuze, and I owned the clipzip (I had to trade for something, damn it). The volume is LOUDER on the hp out of the clipzip,...and when using the eq the volume doesn't lower like it does with the fuze/clip/clip+. And yes, I also own 2 clip+'s, both Rockboxed. The clipzip (IMO) beats the clip+.

I miss my clipzip,... :(

Definently leaning torwards the Clip Zip, but i'm sort of worried of it looking cheap..

The Fuze+ looks sexy, but the rumors of awful navigation....

Is the Clip Zip the top contender?

The Nationite just seems too... Dingy..

I would like some color.

Warning!!! Avoid the fuze+ at ALL COSTS!!! The navigation is horrid & sluggish/choppy. Add a microSDHC card and it UNBEARABLE,,, The sq IS excellent, but it's not worth all the UI's hassle. I know, I own the fuze+ as well,...

get the clip zip.

I use the 8gb zip+32gb card as my main rig.

average battery life, decent controls and build. fairly easy to use!

for my ears, the zip sounds the same as the cowon J3 in flat eq with the same 320kbps mp3 track.

can't vouch for the fuze+ though...

Thanks, will be avoiding the Fuze+

So you are saying:

1. Get the Clip Zip

2. The Clip Zip is better then the fuze in terms of SQ, and is the best in my preferred price range

So. just for confirmation.

The Clip Zip doesn't look cheap or dingy as something as the older clip models. Does it feel as quality as the Fuze?

That really is my only worry. I hate cheap-feeling/looking devices.

The fuze IS the more solidly built device, but I doubt you'll really have an issue with the clipzip if you purchase one. Besides, it's dirt cheap - you could always get another player as a supplement. And a store return policy is something I always look for - 30 days minimum or I buy from somewhere else.

agreed the clip zip is not built like a tank but nonetheless it is very sturdy and will survive most drops. the only vulnerable part is the actual clip which will only break of you abuse it!

good sq & good value for money! the navipad does creek when pressing and feels a little cheap but it doesn't bother me 'cause it does its job without fault(easy to use inside pocket). I'd recommend it. If you have second thoughts why don't you have a look in your local electronic shop which has a clip zip on display.

I haven't used a fuze/fuze+ so can't comment about it. sorry!

Hmm..

Thanks very much.

Will definently take a look at the clip zip.

Get a Clip Zip now, and hopefully Sandisk will have a good replacement for the Fuze+ at the end of August. Will they call it Fuze Zip?

Who knows? Clip Zip is a silly name....so one can only imagine what they might call the next Fuze variant....unless they call it the View Zip? eek.gif
