Philips O'Neill the Stretch VS ATH-M50 VS Sennheiser HD 380 PRO

Thread Starter

I'm deciding between the three models listed in the title.

My budget is strictly under $300, and by that I mean including tax.

So those headphones seem very affordable for their quality.

I would like a pair of headphones that can block out noises in public transportation (bus, trains) and airplanes.

Which pair of headphones is most suitable for great sound quality and noise isolation?

Or perhaps you guys can suggest me a whole different pair of headphones STRICTLY under $300?

Thanks,

AnswerMe.

Not familiar with the Philips.

I do not like the Senn 380's at all.

The ATH-M50's  - so much has been written about them - just would say they're good sounding phones

for the money at about $125.00.

Does your $300. include an amp?

What kind of music do you listen to?

What music player do you have or intend to use?

Why don't you like the 380s? I have both the M50s and the 380s, and the 380s are a clear step up than the M50s.

I don't like the philips much. They have a really muddy bass to me and are overall not enjoyable. Also, anytime I go into best buy the display for them is broken. That says something. The m50 are a pretty good choice. I havn't heard the senns, but I can imagine they're somewhat veiled like senn's other mid price cans.
