Saints Row: The Third Platinum Pack Headphones

I really want to get Saints Row The Third and there are headphones in the special edition of the game. BestBuy still sells the Platinum Pack and I was wondering about the quality of the headphones? (Sound and build quality) I listen to a lot of rock, metal, hardcore, and a little bit of electronic music (techno, dubstep, drum and bass, house, etc).

They're probably absolute crap. Most game-oriented headphones are (Tritton, Steelseries, etc.)

Most gaming headphones aren't really all that good for gaming anyway IMO . . . .

Never used one. but i think they are decent. add in that gaming astro amp or something or whatever its called with actual Dolby and what not to a logitech and i would expect good results.

How can you think they're decent if you've "never used one"?

As for Dolby Headphone, it does work well . . . it works best IME with actually decent headphones like AT-AD700/AKG K601/Beyer DT880/etc.

Maybe they are good for theme music while you blow stuff up

They're not a gaming headset, it's for actual use with your iPod, smartphone, mp3 player, etc. I've heard they are really cheap feeling and sound sort of like SkullCandy Hesh. I'm better off just actually going with the Audio Technica's I wanted in the first place and getting the regular game.

Yes, but that's beside the point isn't it (and I would say Beats are bad)?  What do either of those headphones have to do with the one in question?  I could argue there's plenty of headphones that are not only expensive, but really are bad (specifically looking at certain Ultrasone models for example).

Besides, how are you being objective?  No measurements, no experience, just a wild guess.  That doesn't exactly meet the terminology of "objective".

Either way I'm glad OP has dumped the thought and is going for a (hopefully good) pair of AT's.

Yes, this most likely. It's sad they aren't even good looking. They had a chance to make them a nice full purple color, maybe even.. floppy.
