LP60 Skipping!

This question is actually for my friend, but her Audio Technica LP60 turntable is skipping because the tone arm isn't heavy enough, there's no counterbalance adjustment or antiskate feature to be spoken of, Of course putting a penny on is a terrible idea, so what can be done to help weigh it out to skip less?

Are you sure there is no counterweight adjustment?  Because if so, there is no way to accurately set up the cartridills hitch will make make it impossible to get this table to sound decent (unless you are lucky enough to find a cartridge that just happens to fit perfectly with the tone arm).

You could always add weight by sticking small amounts of bluetak or putty on top of the cartridge.  However, I would seriously consider getting a different table because running a cartridge at too low a tracking rate will damage your vinyl records.
