How do you store your headphones? - Page 3

I love that Sennheiser headphone holder, and the Audio-Technica HPH-400 is almost as good.

However, my Koss KSH1, though ugly, is rugged enough to survive a nuclear blast. Mine is black, but I included a pic in yellow to show its basic unattractiveness:

I've actually got those coat hangers you stick on doors holding mine right above my desk. $4 for two of them at the hardware store. I've used them for a while for wires but it turns out, they hold most headphones nicely too

Biggest, nicest looking Coat Hook I could find at the Home Depot. Just screwed it to the side of my desk. Works great, use the lower part for the headphones and the upper hook for the cable which is 10' long.

unused guitar stand for my unused headphones and main one(s) on my desk. gonna build a shelf or something soon after i buy more fiberglass for my room and other materials in due time. i know my room dead sounding as it is but i want to make it even more dead if possible since fiberglass is insanely cheap.

I've just noticed how impossible it is to get a half decent headphone stand in the UK for a decent price (bar building one yourself, which I am unable to do).

I mean, even the astro one: http://www.limexb360.co.uk/product/Astro_stand_for_the_A40_and_A30_ast-a40-std

I'm willing to bet that top will leave indents in the headphone padding, correct? Or is this just a problem with the banana holders and such that use a small surface area, increasing the psi on a tiny part of the band? Do you think that one will have no problems?

I used banana stands for 5 months with no ill effects. Beyers had a small indent after sitting awhile but it disappeared after 5 minutes.

That's exactly what I do with mine.

I really don't see what all the fuss is about. These aren't fragile things? Leaving them on a desk is good enough and if your paranoid put them in a plastic bag or a drawer?

It seems to me like buying a dedicated stand for £20+ is just throwing money away. Unless of course your headphones are over £5000 and fashioned from unicorn foreskin!

Your sofas are made from velour and suchlike and you put your feet up on these?

I have worked for Sony PlayStation for over 10 years and see all types of headphones (some very expensive) hung from chairs, on the floor and stuck in drawers with no ill effect whatsoever. And yes they are expensive and are paid for by the employees themselves.

Its one thing looking after something its another wasting money on something you don't really need.

The only use I can see for headphone hangers is in a studio environment where there are many sets and the need to keep them untangled.

I just lay them on a table, but then again I only have 2 headphones and I use them both frequently.

I can tell you that the cheapest and easiest way to get the Sennheiser holder is through Officework. Even Ebayer could not match their price. Got them in North Ryde branch last week, around 28. It would fit onto virtually any desk or shelf you have. I use them to store a HD598, it's a nice fit, and I would say it fits most of the full size phone except a few.

If you having trouble getting to a Officework that have them in stock, you can always try to order them through their website or Ebay (only cost a fraction more, I remember seeing one ships from the UK at around 29, with current strong AUD). The model number to search for is HH10.

Well, I have limited desk space. I'd rather they hang from a stand than just sit on top of my tablet or something (the only place they could go) when I'm not using them.

It's probably an OCD thing though. Whatever keeps it happy.

I only have one headphone so I never store it away.  Just sits on my desk.

I just lay them on my desk or on my bed depending on where I was just wearing them. When I get a bigger desk I'll probably make a stand of some sort, I wouldn't spend money on one though.
