Wow...i feel popular. ultrasone's are quite popular so i go to all these threads and different forums. like overclock forums and we get into ultrasones since...they fit a lot of genre's and criteria. the hfi 580 and pro900 are the most popular and so..the 580 gets brought up a lot..i feel and they have already read the review.!

good that so many people i have met either have already read it or read it and after doing some research..put it on their to check out list L3000.gif

when i first got mine as you can see from the ...pre 10 hour impressions. i wasn't impressed...that changed though gs1000.gif

Yeah I'm just now waking up first thing I did is put them on and the bass has really developed, but it seems to become distorted at high volumes, and when I turn the bass up, (I use power amp pro version for Android and all my dubstep is 320k) any tips or info on this?

....u are using a phone and 320kbps music. both are probably the offenders or the track is not mastered well. no device on the market unless it's an audiophile DAP has a good amp and headphone section. next your track is 320kbps. is that bad? no in the best case scenario it is impossible to tell apart...IF and only IF you already have the CD ripped fully lossless version of the track and correctly encode it into 320kbps YOURSELF. i don't think you did that.

So basically...your amp in your phone and headphone out is not very good at all. next you are using an amp program that adds DSP and other effects to the sound so it tends to distort easier from my exp. and next. downloaded regular 320kbps can be heard apart and distort from it's fully cd ripped lossless cousins that you aqquired. it is much harder to tell the difference if you have the cd ripped lossless and encoded it correctly yourself into 320kbps MP3 or whatever lossy format suits your fancy,

So my solution would be? will this be a problem with the fiio e11? do I need to turn all the effects off on the music player?

This is usually the fault of the source, the amp,(sometimes DAC), and other things. rarely the headphone. espeically a audiophile one at this range. im not sure if the E11 can fix it depending on what the problem is. it is recommended to set the first amp to max and then use the second amp to drive...this is due to getting the music to how loud it is supposed to be. usually what. 96dB so it's kinda like getting a linear stream from your DAC except with your first amp and then use the second amp to drive.. honestly at this point since you don't have anything it's hard to tell. it could be your phone's amp, jack and DAC combo not working out(amp most likely) or your tracks.

Do you have a computer nearby? can you plug your headphones in and see if it gives you same effects?

Just plugged them into my pc and no distortion/popping or anything, so it must be my phone...

tongue_smile.gif L3000.gif see. problem fixed. the only problem now is... since i don't have an android. i can't tell you if the e11 will fix it. if the song is clipping from over excursion (not enough amping power so the signal levels out and plateaus) then the e11 can fix it. if it's just something that happens normally with your setup. the E11 can't fix it......  i don't have the E11 or the android phone you have so i can't produce similar results or try it out for you :/ sorry. but its important that you know it's your phone that is limiting. but really. an amplifier should fix this distorting effect you are getting. should is the word. and im speaking in generalities here not talking about the E11 specificaly as i don't have it.

So sears didn't have it, figured they wouldnt, checked best buy and radioshack as well, no luck. Since I'm going to be ordering from online and I'll have a much more broad selection, do you think the e11 is still a suitable portable amp, geared towards bass, for under 100$~? Which others would you suggest?

I have personally seen a lot of Ultrasone and FiiO love but that's just me. i only have the HFI 580 and E17 so i can't really do too too much but i love my hfi 580 and E17. just wonders. if you were going to get the E11....why not get it anyway. well whatever. just a suggestion. you can either buy it now or wait for suggestions. It's frowned upon on head fi to suggest amps you don't have so. ill just sit here and help if you have any more general qeustions etc.
