Hello

i'm upgrading from my M50's and i want a big, Full size circumaural closed headphone, they will be used anywhere I go, i want real Hi-Fi on the road.

my current rig is FLAC---Cowon C2-----Fiio E11 and I will probably upgrade the amp to P-51 Mustang soon.

My music taste is Instrumental Rock and New Age( Joe Satrinai,Eric Johnson,Enya).

my budget limit is about 1500$,any suggestions will be okay (but not the ultrasone ED8, too much expensive-looking).

Thanks!

maybe bayer t5p?

to be honest, I don't think you need 1500+ on the go because a lot of those cans will be open ones and even if you have a portable rig that will push the hd800/lcd3 to their limit, the ambiance noise will just kill everything you wish to enjoy.

I don't want open cans, I travel a lot and i need an Hi-Fi setup for home, bus, plane and everywhere else when I can hear music.

The Denon is quite an option but the don't isolate for S**t, the Beyer T5p was my original Tought but I want to see if there's any more options.

Thank you

well, in hifi world, there's always MORE options. And its really hard to reach the edge of it since I feel the world is round, duh! So in my understanding, you need something as versatile as possible, then I will suggest you to spend a little less on a headphone, and the rest will go to your setups. Thus, a t70p at sub 500usd fits really good here, and you can buy a ray samuel portable amp for around another 400-600 and a good DAC+Amp like audio-gd for around 700 at home. This way you will be able to maximize your utility. my recommendations are only source of inspiration since I don't know what type of music you listen and your personal taste on warm, cold, bass mid treble soundstage etc.

Thanks for the answer, i will consider the T70P over the T5p.

about your sueggestion about the rig, I will probably buy The RSA P-51 couple months after the headphone purchase, wheter it will be the t5p or t70 or whatever. about Desktop Rig: I will not buy a desktop rig, no matter what it worth.

Ultrasone Signature Pro.

Some say they sound better than T5p on a portable set up, and when it's used with higher amp it sounds still as good as t5p.

Not many reviews out there, but it's considered as more balanced and neutral Edition 8/9. (it's between 8 and 9.)

Or just get Cypher labs algorythm solo + RSA 71b and then get t70.

I think you can get all of them for 1500.

1.my ears are not built to suit for the S-Logic of Ultrasone, sounds like weak reveb to me, but i will definitly consider one, shame that it cost MORE than the Beyer T5p,which kinda screws the all point of this thread.

2.I was thinking of buying the Cypher solo but i don't have an i-device, just the Cowon c2.

3.The SR-71B is way to much big for me, this set-up should fit into a coat pocket and not to be used with a laptop.

As I see it my 2 suitable options are the Beyer T5p with P-51 mustang witout DAC or Cypher Solo with the P-51 and the T70p, which one wiil suit better to my type of music? (Insturmental Rock and New Age)

Another thing I didn't mention: My ears are quite big, it's the main reason why i tought of the T5p, my M50 cups are just to small for my ears( touching the outside rim of the cups).

Thanks.

First of all RMCaudio sells sig pro for 850 and edition 8 for 1049.

Secondly, it's unlucky for you that you can't get clas.

lastly, 71b is quite small, it's smaller than blackberry or an iphone. well it's your choice.

I'd say just go for t5p with p51.

Once you get t70, you will always wonder how t5p will sound like.

Thank you very much and everyone else!

Best Regards and have a good day!
