Hello, I wanna invest some money in to a amazing sounding headphones. I have a pair of Beats By Dr. Dre Studio Headphones which I got for my birthday a little over a year ago. They sound great, but they sound like they are "too close" to me. I want a pair of headphones that sound SPACEIOIUS and ALIVE if you will. I've been researching on the internet on headphone on http://www.head-fi.org. What headphones can I get for about $200 that are great?

If you want something spacious but have to have closed headphones (open ones leak sound out and therefore won't be quite portable), the Fischer Audio FA-003/Brainwavz HM5 are the way to go. However, if you're a basshead you may want to consider something else. The FA-003/HM5 have great bass, but it's not loud bass. Pair the HM5 (around $120) with a JDS Labs CMoyBB portable amp ($60) to power it properly on your iPod, and you're set.

The Sennheiser 598 is a good set to look into if you want open.  The price does tend to fluctuate though.  I bought it for ~250, but with patience you can find a pair for about 180 new on Amazon.  The bass is there and very pleasant, but hardly a basshead's dream.
