For sale is a modded pair of woody T50rp's that I recently purchased from another member.  

 

I decided the sound signature wasn't for me.  From the reading I've done, it seems that the T50rp drivers greatly benefit from burn-in.  Since these drivers are very new, they may not have had a chance to break in.  However, just to be safe, I'd suggest a buyer who is familiar with the internals of a T50rp and comfortable with making alterations if they see fit.  Again though, it may just be a matter of breaking them in.

 

Please also note the cracks on the cups.  There are three cracks total.  The first two of the last four pictures show one crack on one cup, and the last two pictures show the other crack on the other cup.  There is also one extremely fine crack above the larger one from the first two pics, but I couldn't capture it very well due to its size.  I was ok with these cracks before I made the purchase as there weren't any noticeable sonic changes. The cups still feel solid so the cracks seem to be only surface deep.  The cracks were also reinforced with hot glue on the inside of the cups.  The hot glue also held down the felt pad for the sound wave reflections.

 

List of modifications that were done:

-The wooden cups used are cedar.

-The stock baffle was replaced with a hard foam baffle to allow for more uniform placement and better sonic range.

-The cable is a 5 foot 22awg silver teflon wire.  It is shielded with black tech flex.

-The plug is a 3.5mm Neutrik plug.

Wait... so these are just a pair of the Cedarpants a member here was selling for $200 on ebay, but with cracked cups and a price raise? Or am I completely off?

I thought the Cedarpants came stock with a silver cable? 

 

(I should point out that even if these were selling for $100 more they'd still be hard to beat, I was just wondering about this stuff.)

Your comment was taken into consideration.  The truth is I don't have a great view of the current market for this kind of mod, so this gives me a better idea.  I know someone locally I can purchase a pair of srh840 pads from, since he's never used them. I'm not sure if that price range for the cedarpants usually grants the cable upgrade or not, but in response I'll reduce the price to $200 and include the srh840 pads(will post pics of the pads over the next day).

I cannot believe people won't pay this for them.  The cups got cracked when I put them together.  Cedar is very susepticle to cracking because it's lightweight.  Even so, these are fantastic headphones for the price if you can deal with the cracks.
