hi guys,

totally new to the forum and headphones. done some searching on the forum but couldnt find any similar threads

have been using in-ear earphones for years now, started with the cx300s and now im using some scosche idr-655m. due to the rise of the dre beats i wouldnt mind getting some headphones now

im looking for some headphones for my iphone that have a remote and microphone built in please

my budget is roughly £70 (about $120?)

they cant be open backed (i bought some grado sr60i's and they leak too much sound)

id very much prefer if they looked okay and not old-school like the grado's lol! but would consider it

the music i listen to is mostly edm (trance, prog house) and rap + random other music sometimes

tl;dr

headphones wanted

~£70 budget

iphone compatible (remote + mic)

NOT open backed

look cool

please help!

thanks in advance

The Klipsch Image One may work for you if you like a huge amount of bass. They are kind of stylish, portable and have good iphone controls. I would look to buy a refurbished or used pair as I don't think they are worth the retail price.

thank you for your reply

hmm they do look good but im pretty sure there are other models, i saw some Audio Technica ATH-WS55i which look quite nice and have volume controls

might buy them for £66 off a chinese ebay seller if there are no other suggestions

they get quite good reviews in a lot of places

Did you order the ATH-WS55i?

I ended up ordering them with similar criterias to you:

closed back

looks cool

has buttons and a mic that works with my iPhone

sounds good for rap and hip hop

about $100USD

I hope they're as good as they say in the very few reviews that are available for them.

I also considered other headphones such as the px200-IIi, klipsch image ones but ultimately went with the ATH-WS55i's.

Mine are apparently at customs right now. I wished them moved faster! haha.

yep ordered the ATH-WS55i's

got them today

just started using them now, they look very nice and fit well

not an audiophile at all so sorry i wont be able to answer if highs/lows etc are good lol!

£66 from ebay, arrived in about 8 working days iirc from china

i like the remote, it has a good click to it so you know your pressing the button unlike my scosche idr-655ms

i know they will need burning in or w/e you call it

you must have got yours by now? how are they?

regards

I got them about two weeks ago. I've been using them everyday now. I'm a fan. I'm also not an audiophile so I can't tell much about the highs and lows but either way I'm enjoying how they sound for sure.

I like the buttons too. Clicks well, especially the volume up and down. Mic works well too. My brother can't tell that I'm using my headphones when he's on the other end.

Who did you order from on eBay?

i listened to a few tracks and it has made me hear stuff ive never heard before so thats definitely something positive

so far so good!

How's the bass on these ws55i's?

Are the subwoofer bass or 6x9 bass? Can you feel it or just hear it?
