Getting a replacement cable for HD800 - go stock, or after market?

I lost my cable, I checked with Sennheiser Singapore and it costs about 200USD for a new one. Should I spend additional 100USD?

Currently I using single-ended, but will definately go balance, but probably delay for a year or 2due to financial difficulties...

FWIW I really like my DHC clone cable, it has great build quality but the cost is definitely something not to take lightly.  I bought my hd800 used with a balanced stock cable which I sold off (and now regret lol), if I had the chance to buy a stock cable under $100 I would go for it, otherwise I'd go aftermarket with the DHC or Cardas or Silver Dragon.  You can always change to balanced connectors without losing the cable if you go with the right builder (or DIY).

I just can't go back to the HD800 stock cable. I've owned the DHC Molecule cable in the past and now have the Balanced Cardas Gold cable and the HD800s just sound more musical with a good aftermarket cable IMO. Not a huge difference, but takes some of the edge off to where I really enjoy them.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm probably looking at furutech cable, but doesnt seen this very popular here.

I dont think I can get Cardas cable within 300usd though...
