Well if you find one, let me know. It seems like recovery time afterwards is taking longer and longer for me.

Was just doing some googling and I ran across this:

http://rockgrotto.proboards.com/thread/3546

Still waffling between the PX-100IIi and the Portapro KTC...pretty sure I will hate the dual cable but also curious to give the Koss a try, I think I will grab them first since I'm broke lately, but I want to get another PX some day and try this mod.

I'll just leave this here in the meantime...

Really excited to compare these two tomorrow. I've loved the PortaPro ever since I got them. I would go as far to say that they have been the most impressive headphone I have ever worn. That's not saying it's the best, obviously, but it's just quite amazing that much sound comes out of a headphone that incredibly cheap. It amazing me every single damn time. I'm hoping the PX 100IIi will do the same, but it will have a much harder time wowing me since it costs more. We'll see.

at first I just browsing this thread to read katun's first post and start reading all the way till page22  (with no account and thanks a lot katun ....)

im ordering px100 ii ahead of my 7 hours flight next sat

and then I saw someone having problems with appalling headache on flights , so I have to register to reply them

===============================

so if you have a MASSIVE headache around your eyes / eyes socket (especially somewhere just above the eye) , and it will gone quickly after the plane landed

its NOT related to headphone / earphone

its related to sinusitis , please do search on google for more...

have a good sleep before a flight , nasal spray before flight (30min to 60min) , topical decongestant and if its still hurt , some ibuprofen

Good info - thanks. One thing that you DON'T want to do on the same day as a flight is to go body surfing and get a LOT of water into your sinuses. Mother of God that is a mistake!

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Thanks for the links.  I need to get a second pair to try these mods.

Got them in and have been listening to them for the last couple of hours. I think I'm inspired enough to do a proper PX 100-ii and Porta Pro comparison. I think it will be a fun little assignment and I feel like it will be helpful around here for people deciding between the two. Both are very very impressive for the price and both have strengths and weaknesses.

I'm not sure if you have done them, but the kramer mods on the Porta Pros (or Sportapro's, or KSC35's) are really easy and really improves them imo.

Lots of discussion about it here:

Taking Koss Portapro to the Limit (cool mods)

I used this video (it's for the sportapro, but the drivers are the same).

Sorry, back OT now!

Have spent the last week taking the PX 100-II with me literally everywhere including a short flight. I feel like I got a good idea as to what they can offer at this point and spent the last day comparing it directly to the Porta Pro. Took some time this morning to write up a comparison of the two. Any feedback is welcomed. Enjoy!

Nice writeup! Personally, I found that in stock form, the portapro's bass could be a bit boomy and uncontrolled at times (same with the PX100II's). This was partly due to how tightly the portapro headband holds the drivers to the ears. But putting the drivers on the parts express headband (less pressure against the ears) combined with the kramer mods eradicated that, and I really love them now.

I absolutely want to try the mod. I just didn't want to do it for a while because I wanted to work with stock sound for the comparison.

A weekend has gone by and I took the PX 100-IIi with me everywhere. I'm even using them in the office over my other office cans. I'm truly impressed with this headphone. Think I picked the right one in my comparison.
