Perhaps he got lucky on Ebay or bought used.

Lowest price ever to hit Amazon was $41. Don't think I've ever seen it dip lower than that.

Watch out for the fakes though. Hopefully they aren't still floating around!

my frnd bought monster beats solo for about $140... he was showing them off. my ppl were amazed by those crappy headphones .. i offered them to hear my px100 ii, they were amazed by the details and clarity it offered.. now the frnd is willing to trade beats with my px100 ii... many ppl dont even know about quality headphones, coz of that they buy beats and stuff. the funny thing is i told my frnds that i bought px100 ii for 180 bucks tongue.gif, they r willing to buy it for $100... i think they dont know about google and other things.

Hi, it's my first post here and not really a headphone guy but looking to get some better than what I have now.  I currently own both PX-100 and PX-100-II.  When I first heard the PX-100-II's I didn't like them as much,  My first impressions was they were too thick sounding and the bass was muddying up the mids, the originals seemed more spacious and open through the midrange.  After living with them I have come to the conclusion that the midrange is significantly smoother as well as the highs than the originals. The originals also had a slight edginess (not to be confused with too bright...just an annoying edge on certain notes or cymbals.)  in the treble that the II's seem to have fixed.   Reducing the clamping pressure on the II's also helped greatly with the bass though its still a tad on the thick side but pleasantly so, this also helped to clean up the midrange too.   One thing I'm noticing though is that they are still not as transparent, clean or as open sounding my main audio system through the speakers (maybe that's typical with headphones ?) and was planning on upgrading to the new PSB m4u-1.  The PSB's are supposedly very impressive with a slightly warm tonal balance also ,  I would like to compare the two now to see if its still worth spending the 300 bucks.  I do love the PX100-II's though...for the money I feel they are totally in a league of their own, I still can't believe how deep they can dig into the bass for a small headphone...or a large one for that matter.

Thanks for the comments, and welcome.

I still think they're the best value of anything I've ever bought in the world of audio.

There would be a few changes I'd want if they made a PX100-III, but that's not going to happen. I guess that's okay though.

Thanks to among other this review has got me decided to get this PX 100-II.

I bought it yesterday and boy what a sound it came out! I'm lovin' it from the first moment and today, after burnin' it the whole night, it just got better it seems. Especially it's the bass/low section that floored me.

I think my TF10 goes into the closet for a while now. I'm having too much fun with this cute headphone for now biggrin.gif

I enjoyed reading through this whole thread, so I thought I'd chime in with my personal experience b/t the original and new PX's.

I bought the PX100-ii because I was able to get $20 bucks off using Amazon points.  I have the original PX100 as well, so I was really looking forward to comparing them.  I haven't put much time on the PX100-ii yet (maybe 30 hours), but currently, I still prefer my old PX100.  I found the PX100-ii with stock pads to be really mid-bass heavy (sometimes muddy) and something was missing (detail) in the upper mid-range compared to the PX100.  I also noticed that the pads were thicker, so I switched them out with the Radio Shack replacement pads for the KSC-75/35.  The center of these pads are thinner, while the edges still have good thickness.  It didn't altogether cure both of my issues, but did help out.  The mid-bass is not nearly as overpowering anymore and the upper mid-range doesn't seem to be masked as much.  I prefer the new beefier headband and single cable the PX100-ii offers, but still can't bring myself to like the sound more than my 6-7 year old PX100.  They just seem more detailed and balanced, which I personally prefer.  BTW, my PX100 has the KSC75/35 replacement pads on it as well.  I'm hoping the PX100-ii will open up some with more time, but even if it doesn't, I do enjoy it as is............just not first on my list.  For anyone finding both PX100 and PX100-ii to be too bassy even with EQ off, I would recommend using the bass reducer on iPod/iPhone/iPad.  I keep my EQ off.  Good Luck!

I highly doubt it. I can't find any reviews regarding that website, and it won't even pop up on a google search. Plus, they sell Bose headphones way less than MSRP, and literally no retailer has discounts on Bose products. I also saw the Sony XB700 which has been discontinued for quite awhile now, yet they still have it listed for only $80. Those PX100-II's are most likely fakes (as are probably half their other stuff, if not simply a scam website). I've dealt with PX100-II fakes before, so yes, they definitely are real and out there.

Pay $10 more an you have a legit pair from Amazon, with fast shipping and 30 day returns.
