About to Purchase Denon AHD2000's - Page 5

perhaps the amp you used them on has less emphasis on the looser bass, which is entirely possible. Like I mentioned before, I wholeheartedly believe it's just your preference for the signature the amp itself is imparting, not the fact that it's a stronger amp.

Again, possible, but why would I notice the same thing with a different headphone and amp? That's what has me confused.

I'm not dismissing what you're saying, logically, you're very right. One side of my brain is saying that it logically doesn't make any sense, but the other side has me experiencing the same thing on 2 headphones, and 3 amps. It's why I'm waiting for the ODA, it's ideal to test this. It's transparent, and has a low output impedance.

I'm not saying that this difference is real, but I'm not going to dismiss it *yet*.

I'll be getting the NFB5 soonish, which has 3.5watts of power at 25ohm, which is many, many, times more powerful than the E7. Can't judge the E9 as its output impedance is too high to give an accurate response on the Denons.

The Lyr changed the sound significantly too, but its a hybrid design, which alters sound due to the tubes.

Again, I'm not saying there are no differences. What I'm saying is that overall, the differences won't be major assuming the Denons are given clean, uncolored power for comparisons.
