Hi just wondering if the optical out on compact disc players bypasses the anti skip compression. I'm guessing not but not sure. I have two players - Sony DE-J815 euro model and panasonic SL-CT790 euro model. Both have esp that cannot be turned off (I think). I was planning on using the digital outs with the Fiio E17 but if the music is badly compressed before it even gets there I don't see the point!
