Are you guys talking about the dial tone from an iPhone or the dial tone from a home phone because the dial tone on a homephone is much louder IMO. I think I am going to look up an article on loudness of music. And JKL what $25 IEM would you recommend? I don't think my parents would let me buy even more headphones though........ Even though I worked for the money. I'd still be interested in knowing though.

There are many IEMs around $25 that are decent. What to get depends on whether you want extra bass or not. For extra bass, the JVC HAFX1X has very strong bass, but also has a bright sound overall. The meelectronics CX21 or CW31 have bass that is more neutral, with CW31 having more bass than the CX21. There are many others to choose from. Even the $6 Panasonic RP-HJE120 IEM sounds quite good for the price. I was curious about it, bought it, and was pleasantly surprised. No, it isn't as good as a good $25 IEM, but I don't mind listening to it.
