There was a press release about two months ago out of TDK about both the BA100/200, from Oakdale, MN, literally right across the street from Comply.  They had meetings about putting the Ts100's with the BA200.  The press release indicated that they would be available in the US, and that hasn't materialized!  Possibly because there wasn't enough interest in the BA100!  Early reviews from people that had the BA200, was that they lacked highs!

I think TDK/Imation got really bad Marketing/Sales/Distribution.

Or probably because the fact that BA100 and EB950 EB900 have been significantly marked down during several sales in the State, and still garnered little and crappy reviews at online dealers, they probably decided to sell BA200 off in territories that make more revenue.

I got my samples from TDK's U.S. press agency so I don't think they are not launching it in the U.S. I think it is just a lack of general interest on TDK as a headphone brand to the general public / reseller in the West. In Singapore, you can even find all these models in small computer store. Another reason is perhaps TDK is never known to make really good sounding headphone till recently. Most of their previous offering are mostly low end accessories for the mass market.

Wait, is EB950 (not to be confused with EB900) already on sale in U.S.? I can't seem to find it on most common sites.

yeah I think there was a confusion there, the EB950 is also not available.

Sorry, got confused by their looks.  I did mean eb900.

EB900 and BA100 are often heavily discounted at the likes of newegg and amazon.

I can confirm that the Y-Split IS an impedance stabilizer, as it's written on the box that the BA200 comes in. BTW, I have the american version, so I don't know, maybe it isn't written on the boxes of the other versions.

Also, I've found the Bi-Flanged Earsonics tips to fit them great, and they offer better comfort than the stock silicone tips. They also make the sound signature darker and more bassy.

There's an American version of the BA200?

I mean that the packaging may be different, though, I doubt the product itself differs.

I got mine through Imation USA, so that's why I call it the "American Version".

There is no such thing as an 'Amarican' version. It is the same BA200 everywhere, down to the packaging. As I mentioned before, I got mine from the U.S. and I have saw it in store locally as well. Same stuff, half a world apart.

I'd assume the product would be the same, yes. I'm just surprised it would be available in the US, as I assumed there were no plans to release them here

Well, I'm not 100% sure it's a special USA version, the packaging is in english, and I assumed that the ones for the Asian markets has got chinese packaging,etc..

Sorry for confusing you.

News to me. I'll have to keep an eye out for them.

After I'll finish my review of them, I'll try to talk to the rep that I'm in contact with and I'll explain him that lots of people in the USA want it - maybe he'll be able to do something....

Yes, please... TDK really dropped the ball on marketing these things.
