Can anyone explain what is causing this?

I was using my sunrise IE while running today and I noticed a lot of popping. To me it sounded like static popping. I was wearing a fleece snow cap over my ears. Could that really cause it? Or is something else happening here? It isn't constant.

Driver flex?  The fleece hitting the IEM can push the IEM in slightly causing driver flex if you have a really strong seal.  Another cause is bone conduction.

Could be, but its happened twice when I wear fleece, either a hat or a northface. I can't say I've heard this when I'm sitting around in a t shirt.
