Bought these on whim, for your basic train ride to work I don't mind. But its far from being the best I have own.

First, I should note that I auditioned these both straight out of the box, without any break-in time and then later after 53 hours of break-in. Recent scientific studies have shown definite...

A very all-round headphone for me. Just the right one to take on the go or on holiday. Also as a DJ, nice noice isolation. Very durable so you don't have to wonder if it will break if you throw...

This quick review is done after a few hours of listening. I bought them from B&H for the decent sum of 150$. If you've done your research you'll find out that Ultrasone HPs are known for their...

Can't really go wrong with either amp - you should decide based on their different feature sets, as both will capably drive the HD650. I've heard only the AE-2 between them and it's a nice amp, though in general I'd be inclined to recommend an AC-powered amp like the Micro, as AC-powered amps tend to provide better bass performance, in my experience.

I owned an AE-2 for a few years, it's a very nice amp that could drive most anything I threw at it. I sold it here on Head-Fi only because I used it very little.

Both amps are quite capable driving HD650 to decent level without too much compromise. AE2 is slightly more polite sounding to my ears than Micro Amp. If you require more portability, choose AE2 and you should think of Micro Amp as more like transportable. I don't care to change out batteries often when I was using Micro Amp so it usually connected to AC power brick. Micro Amp has three gain switch so it is more versatile from IEMs to full size phones and it has crossfeed as well. But if you want to just plug in and enjoy the sound without messing with any swtiches, AE2 is very nice sounding amp.
