I've also got the ES-7's and for a while I looked for an alternative to it. My only gripe with them is the comfort.
Q460: I borrowed a pair and tried to like it but it was near impossible. The highs and lows were just not there. Honestly, I am rather disappointed in the Q460. About the only thing I prefer on the Q460 is a slight edge in comfort and the Control Talk functions.
AKG K181LE: If the control talk functions are secondary to you, the K181LE is a much better headphone in the AKG stable at that price range. It also clamps tight like the ES7 and needs to be stretched out quite a bit.
Denon D1100: My recommendation. Very much more comfortable but a rather drastic change in soound signatures when compared to the ES7's. You've just got to give them a listen to decide if you like them.
In my opinion it's quite hard to beat the ES7 at that price point. If you are looking for something at a higher price poing, the AT ESW9 is a very smooth, mellow performer. I've only recommended the cans I've listened to extensively and as such, I am sure there are many more models that may suit your needs. Best,
Dan
