Amping an already amped soundcard?

Hey guys. I'm wondering here, I've recently purchased a PA2V2 Amp, and I now need a decent budget soundcard. If I were to buy the Asus Xonar DG, which has a meh integrated amp, would it mess with my audio? I remember hearing somewhere that you're not supposed to do that. While I'm posting this, I was also wondering if anyone has good recommendations for a budget soundcard for gaming, as I'm currently running on onboard sound. Thanks for your time.

Well, if the quality of the audio output of the DG is still good enough through the built-in amplifier, then there is no problem. Technically, everything is "amped". But if you are worried about the quality, you could get the more expensive but still cheap Xonar D1 (or DX if you prefer PCIe) instead, which only has line outputs.
