The Soundstage Head Club - Page 9

i had the LE and still own the cop. the LE sounds similar, except the cop can be tuned to your bass needs.

I heard the COP had a smaller soundstage and darker overall sound, muddier bass, and more recessed mids. If the mids on the LE were any more recessed, I wouldn't like them.

How would you compare the COP and S500?

comparing s500 and cop is like comparing m50 and k701. in terms of soundstage.

Ath-M50 soundstage is amazing.....can you guys recommend another headphone with such great soundstage very_evil_smiley.gif

people talk about the ad700 soundstage, tried them and have to agree with this guy from headfonia:

"Many said that the AD series have a very good soundstage. I would say yes and no. I think what happens is a slight confusion between a spacious and open sound, and what actually is a big soundstage. First and foremost, it is very important that you actually play a good live recording to be able to hear what a proper soundstage should be like. Good jazz recordings such as Jazz at the Pawnshop or the Buena Vista Social Club are good. Likewise classical recordings are mostly taken in a real hall with proper acoustics, and these are the type of recordings that is best used to evaluate soundstage. Remember that a real soundstage is one that is captured from the acoustics of the venue when the recording takes place, and mainstream recordings taken in sound-proof studios should not be used to evaluate soundstage.
So, back to the AD series. In the midst of the big and spacious soundscape, I actually find the soundstage performance to be mediocre."

Ummm...what? M50 has good soundstage? Not unless I've been demoing fakes from authorized retailers and like 4 of my friends got ripped off too o_O

Maybe try some open cans if you want to know what real soundstage sounds like...my TF10s sound wider than the M50 IMO, its one of the more congested $150 phones I've heard.

I assumed the " very_evil_smiley.gif " implied sarcasm...

Yea... I think I might be trying it and comparing it with my xb700 and son to be dt 990 pro 250s and dt 770 pro 80s xD BASS CAN SHOOT OUT!

But on sound stage, the xb700 has a big sound stage :O for a closed can... but it's so dark it sounds like you in a BIG engine block >.>

Darkvoice 337 and EarMax have huge soundstage as far as soundstage goes, IMO.

For DAC, I'd like to add Audio Gd Ref. 7.1, the soundstage benefit is obvious compared to other DAC I've ever heard.

Does anyone know the sound staging of the NFB 1.32? It's probably going to be my end game DAC, at least while I'm in school...
