Hi Headfi, New here but have been lurking for a bit :)
Anyways a little background, The ONLY pair of phones I have owned Are the Sennheiser HD 280pro's so I am pretty much a complete newb when it comes to this but I do know when I hear good sound as I have a decent home theater system, but anyways, I bought those back in 2003 so there getting kind of old and worn, also to me they didn't have the bass I was always looking for and they kind of seemed like a "boring" headphone honestly and they weren't very comfortable to wear, but I stuck with them until this point for some reason.
So Ive read a lot about these 3 sets and from I get the AE2's are super comfortable but SQ isn't the greatest, 780's I see a lot of people like and sound great but apparently are not comfortable to wear at all, how does this comfort compare to the HD280's? and the 1100's are comfy but maybe a little to bass heavy, is it muddy bass or more of a punchy bass?
So what do you people think? Is the 780 worth it if I don't think I would be uncomfortable with them? how do they compare to the 1100's sound quality wise? and why are the AE2 worse than those exactly? My price range is $150 to $200 btw and the 1100's are $200 and the others only $150. Are those really worth the extra $50?
