Man if anyone wants to waste their parents money its their parents fault for letting them do so. If I were him I'd get beats for showing off and an amazing pair for at home.

Or you could buy some V-Moda V-80s and have some nice cans that are also good for showing off. cool.gif

I'm going to go ahead and toss the Ultrasone HFI-580s onto the table.  They have a surprising amount of bass both in quality as well as presence.  I personally find em to be one of the slicker looking sub 300 dollar headphones currently out, and dang sturdy as well.  The isolation is rather good both ways, but you might find the comfort lacking.  Granted they aren't all that much worse compared to the Beats or Aviators.  Cord length might be an issue.  Got mine for about ~120 dollars, so they can be a great bargain if you are patient.

I second Magick Man's opinion. V-moda M-80s are great sounding, comfy, durable, and stylish. Seriously worth the $180-200 they command. Beats Studios? Well, you say are they worth $200? Well, I'd say that $20 would be a more reasonable speculation.

Yes if you want to look like teenagers

No if you are serious about the sound quality :)

Well, it's your own choice. As an owner of Beats Studio I would like to say that if you just want to be like a teenager it's okay. At my school most people think Beats are the coolest headphones, which really makes me sad. =) Although I bought Beats just for fun I still think that it was one of biggest mistakes in my life. I would rather spend that amount money for something else like V-Moda.

P.S. My Beats are still in very good condition, but I rarely use them.

They're worth $80 bucks. tongue.gif

being realistic.

You must have a pretty good life...

Going into the $200 range, there are so many better choices than Beats, to be honest.

m80s, hd-25-1 ii, etc, etc.

It's a bloody $20 headphone with a $500AUD exterior. Bloody Koss KSC75 sounded better than them to me.

This. You're just paying for looks when you buy them.

+1 You might want to look at the white ones, i think they look better than any of the beats. cool.gif

And if not, maybe... Ultrasones? They look pretty good.

+1 for the ATH-ES7

  • Doesn't leak much sound
  • Stylish
  • Portable
  • Has a nice bass but isn't overpowering

I'd take any below 100 bucks headphone over any Beats, based on reviews.
