I'm looking for suggestions for headphones to be used at work. I love my LCD-2 headphones, but they leak to much sound and are not isolated enough to be used at work. I listen to hip hop, rock, electronica mostly. I enjoy headphones with bass impact, and a slightly warm signature, but with detail. So far in my search I have come across the sony ex1000 and Denon LA5000 that seem to have what I'm looking for. What do you guys use at work? Are the ex1000 really comparable to full headphones or would it be best just to stick with full headphones?

Bought these on whim, for your basic train ride to work I don't mind. But its far from being the best I have own.

First, I should note that I auditioned these both straight out of the box, without any break-in time and then later after 53 hours of break-in. Recent scientific studies have shown definite...

A very all-round headphone for me. Just the right one to take on the go or on holiday. Also as a DJ, nice noice isolation. Very durable so you don't have to wonder if it will break if you throw...

This quick review is done after a few hours of listening. I bought them from B&H for the decent sum of 150$. If you've done your research you'll find out that Ultrasone HPs are known for their...

I auditioned the SRH-1840 straight out of the box, and was unsatisfied with the sound, so I decided to give them a period of break-in. Recent scientific studies have shown definite differences...

Heya,
D5000 pretty much has your needs covered. They're not absolutely isolating, but they're not blazing like a true semi-open or fully open either (contrary to what the internet seems to like to copy & paste about that). If you want to reduce cost, even a Beyer DT770 would be a good candidate too (with improved isolation if that takes any priority for you). Both are very comfortable.
Very best,

I recently got DT 770 Pro 80 headphones for this purpose and I really like them so far.
I rated comfort, isolation and durability very highly which was the basis for getting these since they are top class on those points while on overall offering good value compared to more expensive models. They've also got plenty of bass impact and sound quite nice.
Personally I dismissed IEMs due to microphonics induced by the cable and comfort issues but if you don't have these hang-ups that's another route to consider. "Work" for me consists of sitting in front of a computer but I use IEMs at the gym so perhaps I'd use them for manual labour.
Lawsons/Denons seem like a great choice too although they are much more expensive and I'm not sure how well they isolate compared to 770 or modded 770s like Terminators/Darths or others. The Denons might offer better detail though.
If money isn't an issue and you feel that they would be safe to use at your work then R10 might be in the running :D

How concerned about you about leakage and isolation? If you're ok with a low to moderate amount, the Denons are fine. But if you want something much more air-tight, you'll want to look elsewhere, at maybe Pro 900s or Darth Beyers.
I already use grados for work, so it's not at the top of my priority list but I'm looking for a little better isolation. I found a good deal on the d5000s and picked them up. I'll see how they work out. Thanks for all the suggestions!
