Please pardon newbie with modest technical knowledge.
Just got a HM-602 and I am having great difficulty transferring my FLAC music files onto the player.
My FLAC library is on a shared network drive. My Macbook Pro runs Snow Leopard.
When I connect 602 via USB to Mac, Finder sees the 602, and seems to start copying fine when I drag a folder from my NAS FLAC music folder to the 602. Most of the time during the copying of the folder the 602 disappears from the device list on left, and I get this message:
MAC: "The disk was not ejected properly. If possible, always eject a disk before turning off".
COPY
"The Finder can't complete the operation because some data in "FolderName" can't be read or written.
(Error Code 36)"
When this happens, the 602 "USB DATA TRANSFER" display disappears and 602 goes to main menu.
FWIW, I used these same FLAC files and successfully dragged/dropped with my older player without errors.
When I power down the 602 & reconnect to Mac, Finder sees the 602 again, and the Folder Artist Name that I just tried to copy appears grayed out. When I click on it, it doesn't show which files are in the folder, even if the 602 shows a few of the songs from that folder in its artist/album/song listings.
I spent about 4 hours trying everything I could think of and got about 3 CDs to transfer to 602 without errors. They do sound great when I play them! :-)
So then I tried PC instead of Mac. When I connect via USB to my Windows XP PC, a message in lower right taskbar area pops up that new disc is detected, but when I Explore to drag and drop, the 602 isn't showing up as a drive letter in Explorer, can't find a place to drag to. Can't do anything via PC.
The system info on my 602 says it is running 0.05 April 2011.
Any suggestions as to what to try would be greatly appreciated.
