I've been lurking and searching the forums for threads offering advice for the best headphones for metal. There have been too many recommendations, so I'm feeling a bit lost.
I'd like to find a pair of headphones that can stand-alone (I might look into buying a headphone amp later down the road) for ~$250-300.
Right now I'm using Bose QuietComfort 15s, but I'm aware they're overpriced, and honestly, the sound quality isn't that great.
What are your recommendations? I've been eyeing the beyerdynamic 770s and 990s, but I really don't know what will keep me happy.
Also, to get an idea of the genres I listen to, it's mostly melodic death, melodeath/doom, folk and black metal. Would a pair of headphones like these also go well with MW3 or Assassin's Creed Revelations?
