Hi
I wonder if some one could help me with an issue.
I recently purchased a Bose Companion 5 PC Speaker System and they sound fantastic.
The problem I am having is the sound keeps cutting out.I have to un-plug the USB cable and plug it back in again for the sound to come back only to have it cut out again at some point in time. Some times it can happen 2-3 times during a song or some times I can get through a few songs before it happens again.
I am running Window's 7 32 bit and have 4 megs of ram.
I can't help but wonder if the Bose system is over taxing my PC.
I have even tried only working with one program at a time with the music on but it doesn't seem to make a difference.
any suggestions !
Ocan.

What computer/soundcard are you using?
I'd look into updating your sound drivers first and see if that clears the cut-outs.

sounds like a laptop usb port is in use with a not great power regulation.
unplug all the usb things connected you dont need
Thanks Guys
Looks like I figured it out.
For one,The installation had it set up to run on Vista instead of Windows 7.
I also found a forum where other folks were having the same problem so I had to go make a few adjustments to the settings and now it seems to be working fine.
Here's what I did:
Method 1: Set the device as Default device and check if the issue persists.
1. Go to Start >Control Panel > Sound
2. Right click on the "Bose USB Audio" icon
3. Select "Sound Settings"
4. Make sure that the "Bose USB Audio" speakers are set to default.
5. Select the "Communications"Tab-> Select the "Do nothing" radio button.
So glad it's sorted now. This is one hell of a great PC sound system .I highly recommend it espeacialy if your fussy when it comes to music and movies like I am.
Ocan.
