I've been using a TRENDS UD 10.1 Audio Converter and a Total BitHead AMP to listen to music from my MacBook Pro with my Senn HD650s at home.

1) I believe that by using this TRENDS converter, IT is acting as a DAC... YES/NO? 

2) To listen to my iPhone 4 while out and about, if I don't want to carry the TRENDS along (and I DONT,) what can I use to connect the line-level out from the iPhone to the Total BitHead? Going from the headphone jack to the Total BitHead sounds, well, not that great.

I was considering the FiiO E-17 Alpen, until I read in another post that their "L-X" adapters don't work with Apple's DAC-OUT Chip?!

SO, what do I do to get the same "line-Level" (headphone-jack-bypassed) signal from the iPhone 4; into my Total BitHead?

 I'll gladly take whatever anyone wants to tackle, if not all.
