Recabled and now one ear is louder than the other

I just recabled my dt880s and after my initial reaction of happiness that sound actually came through them indication that everything was connected and working, I noticed the left ear is louder than the right. Putting left cup on right and vs only made me more certain of the difference.

 

I read about loose connectors but none of them are loose as I double checked they were all nice and snug. I do notice that the inside of the ear pad is not completely flush with the foam covering the driver on one side. This may just be the ear pad being seated weird or possibly the driver is not seated correctly now? Any thoughts very much appreciated and should help lessen my headache.

Try to fix the earpad issue.  Also, check all solder joints and make sure than none are cold joints or whatever.  If in doubt, reflow all joints carefully.  Your amp is fine, too, right?
