Bought these on whim, for your basic train ride to work I don't mind. But its far from being the best I have own.

First, I should note that I auditioned these both straight out of the box, without any break-in time and then later after 53 hours of break-in. Recent scientific studies have shown definite...

A very all-round headphone for me. Just the right one to take on the go or on holiday. Also as a DJ, nice noice isolation. Very durable so you don't have to wonder if it will break if you throw...

This quick review is done after a few hours of listening. I bought them from B&H for the decent sum of 150$. If you've done your research you'll find out that Ultrasone HPs are known for their...

I auditioned the SRH-1840 straight out of the box, and was unsatisfied with the sound, so I decided to give them a period of break-in. Recent scientific studies have shown definite differences...

sennheiser hd 598 vs denon ahd2000 for rock, YOU DECIDE.
Wrong section?
I have Sennheiser HD595 and the denon 2k. When I bought the Denons I intended to sell the sennheisers. I mostly listen to Rock, Rap etc so I figured the Denons would be a step up. When I got the Denons I was more than pleased but... its a totally different sound. Depending on the band, song, sound your looking for, it varies which headphone sounds best. Disturbd, Linkin Park, some Red Hot Chillie Peppers and all rap sound better on the denons. however Aerosmith, Journey, some Red Hot Chillie Peppers, and music concentrating more on vocals sounds better on the Sennheisers. I decided to keep the Sennheisers because I couldn't let go of the different sound they produced. If I had to pick one I'd say the Denons, but that is only a slight advantage because I can be sort of a basshead. If you have the chance Id test them out before you decide which one to buy, it depends on what you listen to and what sound your looking for. Either one is perfect but in totally different ways.

Yup--if you haven't done it already (it's been a long time since your first post), re-post you question here:
I'm not sure about Denon never used it but Senheiser HD 598 is something that I wouldn’t buy for Rock as it doesn’t gives sound I expect from it.
