First, I should note that I auditioned these both straight out of the box, without any break-in time and then later after 53 hours of break-in. Recent scientific studies have shown definite...

What is the Line Out pin configuration of the HiFiMAN HM-801. I need to construct a coaxial S/PDIF digital interconnect for the HM-801, presumably with a 4-pole 3.5mm plug.
I just found the manual for the HM-801 (I am in the process of purchasing the HM-801). It shows "6) Line Out - Use with 3.5 mm IC to bypass DAC and Internal Amp". Given that the Line Out bypasses the DAC as indicated, wouldn't that indicate that the Line Out is a digital connection?

It must be typo. Line-out only bypass the amp module.
