Ibasso Dx100 bugs to fix or features to add : Please tell us what you want to fix or add - Page 10

Well, I did email them, as you suggested, but no reply as yet.

Yes, I could turn the unit off but it's WAY too easy to get distracted and forget to do that instead of standby. It's not that I'm stupid (many would disagree!), it's just that life is a distracting thing. When I get into work, I am often accosted by clients and /or colleagues before I've even stepped onto the premises, thus requiring hasty removal of CIEMs and fumbling to stop music playback whilst engaged in Q&A. The simple answer to your question is that good intentions would tally with your theory, but real life, for me, often undermines good intentions, and I need a DAP (if it has atrocious battery life) to have the basic ability to power itself down COMPLETELY.

I understand where you are coming from. Did you try the sleeper on Power Amp? I haven't tried it yet so not sure if that will work but it is an option. When on the player screen, press the button on the left corner of the DX100 and it will give you a bunch of options for Power Amp. It may work, give it a shot.

Received DX100 today. Two problems:

  1. My MacBook won't recognise the DX hard drive whether under Windows 7 or Lion 10, therefore have been forced to use card only;
  2. Either the coax out, or the supplied cable (with a std to mini adapter) doesn't work. I am attempting to link with the JH3A and the only way it will work is using line out to line in. I know there is nothing wrong with the coax in on the JH3A because it works fine with the CLAS (iPod).

With regard to 2 above, unless there a setting to 'activate' the coax - daft suggestion, I know, there is a defect.

I would have thought that for this price there would have been quality control to match.

I have emailed iBasso and will let you know what they say.

With no music playing, and in standby, my DX100 uses very little power. If the music is left playing, then of course it does consume much more but obviously less than when phones are also plugged in.

Does Disk Utility see the DX100 internal storage?

Does Disk Utility see the DX100 internal storage?

No

I agree, I just shut mine down and problem solved.

How does one restart the DX100 when it hangs? I note there is a little pin hole "restart" but there doesn't seem to be a button in there when I poke something in.

Stick it in further.  Use a paper clip.  The moment you hit the button it'll reset.

I had my first lockup yesterday and a "force music application to close" window did not work.  A normal restart resolved the problem.   Any improvements to device stability would be appreciated in coming firmware.

-Lockscreen controls will be great.

-I have ~80Gb of music loaded into the internal memory and microSD card. Ibasso player (as well as Neutron player) takes >10 min to load. This seems a software, rather than hardware issue, since Poweramp loads in 30 sec.

Take care, as Neutron is a software based player which uses the cpu (emulation) to do many of its processes (as to my understanding, please correct me if I am mistaken), whereas the Poweramp/Stock player let the hardware do the work.

Yes, that is probably true. However, stock player (at least with Go Launcher) has the same issue.

I prefer, to install only the essential apps (poweramp, battery, file explore, coverart) and turn off UI animation, and background sync. (the most battery demanding!), display to the lowest setting , wifi and blue-tooth off, and was able to reach max around 9-9.5 Hours!!

Does it take this long every time you start the stock player? Does it change if you remove the sd card?

I only have about 30gigs on mine so far (I'm choosy) but my player starts up instantly - same with Poweramp and n7player.

It seems to have to do with MicroSD card specifically. It loads very quickly when MicroSD is removed, so scanning MicroSD appears to take really long time.
